Al Lewis, a longtime business journalist recognized by the DUPN Registry in 2022 for his contributions to global awareness through financial reporting, has launched a new Substack newsletter titled Business Blunders.
The publication, which debuted in March 2024, is dedicated to chronicling missteps, mismanagement and misjudgments in the business world, and examining what these failures reveal about leadership, systems and accountability.
Known for his unflinching commentary and accessible writing style, Lewis brings more than four decades of reporting experience to the project. His past roles have included business columnist for The Denver Post, editor-in-chief of South Florida Business Journal, and columnist for The Wall Street Journal Sunday, where his work was nationally syndicated. He later served as business editor at the Houston Chronicle before turning to independent publishing.
Business Blunders offers a candid look at corporate failures, blending reporting with sharp editorial insight. The newsletter is ad-free and reader-supported, delivering regular posts that spotlight some of the most consequential or absurd failures in the corporate world.
In 2022, Lewis was recognized with the DUPN Recognition of Excellence Award under its ‘Impact Awards’ category that acknowledges individuals whose work meaningfully contributes to global public understanding in their area of practice. While the recognition is awarded via a public certificate posted online and website listing, it reflects Lewis’s longstanding reputation for clarity, insight and critical engagement with business and economic issues.
With Business Blunders, Lewis builds on his longstanding reputation for exposing the realities of business; not just how it operates, but how and why it fails.
